Why Avee Was Born

We’re parents first, founders next.

If your kids are between 5 and 12, you’ll relate to this deeply.

Kids between 5 and 12 years live in a very special in-between world.
They’re no longer babies who stay wrapped in our arms all day, and they’re not yet the independent teenagers.

This is the age when they truly step out into the world.
School, playgrounds, tuitions, dance classes, sports, birthday parties, vacations, swimming… every day they are exposed to dust, sun, sweat, pollution, chlorine and changing weather.

At the same time, this is also when they start doing things on their own:

• Bathing and washing their hair
• Brushing and basic toiletries
• Getting ready for school without mom or dad at every step

They’re exploring independence, but their skin and hair are still delicate and need thoughtful care.

The Silent Guilt Parents Feel

In many Indian families, this is also the phase when a second baby arrives.
Naturally, parents’ attention shifts – feeding, burping, sleepless nights, doctor visits – and the first child is gently expected to “manage on their own.”

As working parents—and in our case with growing daughter—we saw this independence and felt a bittersweet tug. Pride, of course. 

• Pride that our child is becoming responsible
• But also a quiet guilt – “Am I still protecting her enough?”
• “Her hair is frizzy, and skin looks dry after school… am I giving her the right care?”
  

As parents of daughters ourselves, we went through the same worry. We wanted them to feel protected, loved and cared for – not just emotionally, but through the products we used on their skin and hair every day.

The Gap We Saw on Every Shelf

When we started looking for products made just for this age group, we saw only two categories:

• Baby products – too mild, not designed for kids who spend long hours outdoors
• Adult products – too harsh for their still-developing skin and scalp
  

There was almost nothing created specifically for 5–12 year olds.
Yet this is the age when they are:

• Sweating more
• Spending more time in the sun and pollution
• Learning to bathe and wash their hair independently
  

We kept asking ourselves:
“There are baby products. There are adult products.
But what about kids – the 5–12 age group?”

That’s where the seed for Avee was planted.

We didn’t start Avee as a “brand idea.”

We started it because, as parents, we couldn’t find what we were looking for.

We wanted:

• Products made only for kids 5–12 years
• Gentle enough for their still-developing skin and scalp
• But effective enough for their school, sports, sweat and sun life
• Something they could safely use themselves as they learned to bathe and care for their body independently
  

So we created Avee — just for school-going kids.

We chose Oats and Multivitamins (like Vitamin B5 & E) as our hero ingredients because they:

• Soothe and calm kids’ skin and scalp after a long, active day
• Hydrate and protect from dryness and roughness
• Nourish hair, helping it stay soft, less frizzy and easier to comb

Every formula we worked on, we asked ourselves one simple question:

“Would we use this on our own kids, every day, with full peace of mind?”

If the answer wasn’t a clear yes, we went back to the lab.

What Avee Means to Us

For us, Avee is not just shampoo, body wash or lotion on a shelf.

It’s for:

• The child who has just become an elder sibling
• The kid who comes home dusty and smiling after football
• The 8-year-old who proudly says, “Mama, I’ll shower by myself.”
  

And it’s for you, the parent, who wants to say:

• “Even if I’m not doing every little thing for them like before,
  I still want them to feel protected, loved and cared for.”
  

Avee is simply our way of putting that love into their daily bath and self-care routine.
